J'ai vraiment adore mon passage au Laos. Quel dommage que je n'ai pas pu visiter tout ce pays a velo. Il y a tres peu de circulation et beaucoup de routes de montagnes magnifiques. J'ai beaucoup regrette ne pas avoir pu continuer. Je suis reste plus dans les zones touristiques, j'ai moins eu l'occasion de rencontre de Laotiens, et j'ai eu beaucoup de moins de peripeties qu'au Cambodge a velo.
Le Laos se distingue tout particulierement par le nombre de merveilles naturelles qu'on peut y trouver: cascades, caves, montagnes... C'est aussi un pays tres rural. Les plus grandes villes sur le bord du Mekong ressemble plus a de grands villages. Vientiane, la plus grande ville du pays, ressemble plus a une petite ville de campagne qu'aux grosses metropoles des pays voisins comme Hanoi, Phnom Penh ou Bangkok.
Le style de vie des laotiens est en accord avec la beaute des paysages de leurs pays. Il est difficile de ressentir du stress la bas. Il suffit de regarder autour de soi pour couper court a toute pense negative.
Les Laotiens etaient toujours tres accueillants, toujours tres enthousiastes et tres souriants et ce en toutes circonstances. Bref, totalement aux antipodes de la vie urbaine, ce qui m'a fait un bien fou!
Il n'y a pas vraiment d'anecdotes concernant le Laos qui vaillent la peine d'etre raconte ici. C'est plus l'impression que m'a laisser ce pays que j'aimerais partager. Voici donc quelques photos qui j'espere illustreront bien la beaute de ce pays.
I loved my stay in Laos. It was a big frustration not to be able to visit all this country by bike. There is almost no traffic and a lot of very scenic roads. I really regretted not to cycle like I did in Cambodia. I missed the challenge. I could not be as close to the people as I was there. Nonetheless I stayed nearly one month in Laos and enjoyed every day there.
What strikes any first time traveler is the stunning beauty of its Land. Throughout Laos one can find amazing mountain landscapes, waterfalls, rivers, caves... Laos is very rural. Even the biggest cities look more like big villages.
Laos lifestyle is in harmony with its amazing landscapes. Lao people where almost welcoming, always positive and smiling under any circumstances. This was the opposite of the hectic lives of New York or Paris, and it was definitely something I needed!
There is no story about Laos that is worth telling here. I would prefer to share how it impacted me. So there are a few pictures that I hope will show the beauty of this country.
